An air bombardment took place in Sumy on the evening of March 7. The city’s suburbs were also hit. In some settlements dwellings of civilians were destroyed, too. Almost in the center of Sumy on Romenskaya Street, several houses were laid to waste.

“It has been completely wiped off the ground. There were private houses. Unfortunately, killed victims are founded. Among them are children”, the head of the regional state administration stated.

Previously, 9 people were killed in the shelling, including 2 children, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine


Russian propagating media posted fake news about the speech of US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken about the “powerful” Russian army, the Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security reports.According to a fake quote, the US Secretary of State allegedly stated that the Russian army is far superior to the Ukrainian one. Russian troops are capable to wipe out the Ukrainian army.In fact, being interviewed by CNN, he said that winning a battle wasn’t winning the war.

“Taking a city does not mean he’s taking the hearts and minds of the Ukrainian people. On the contrary, he is destined to lose.”


As reported by the Minister of Infrastructure Alexander Kubrakov, the war against Russia caused billions of hryvnias of damage to our transport infrastructure. He stated that it probably would take up to 2 years in order to restore the largest facilities and strategic objects.

According to estimates, last week’s losses exclusively to transport infrastructure (roads, bridges, railways, equipment, airports) exceeded $10 billion.

“Of course, this tragedy is not only ours, …Ukraine is defending the interests of the entire civilized world, but we are also supposed that rebuilding of this country is in hands of the humane world as well.”


Today, a humanitarian corridor has been opened in the city of Sumy to evacuate people along the route: Sumy – Golubivka – Lokhvytsia – Lubny – Poltava.


The Mariupol City Council notes that today the Russian occupiers are continuing to fire on Mariupol, with all areas being destroyed by enemy fire. There are no streets left without broken windows, destroyed apartments, or even houses of civilians. It is difficult to determine the number of death, caused by Russian aggression, due to fact that the bodies of the dead victims are buried right in the yards of the residential sector.

The city is still without lighting, water, and even gas. So the citizens prepare food near the houses on the fires(a bonfire). However, the danger unites inhabitants: everyone helps each other. Mariupol was left without means of communication. The only opportunity to gain any info about the situation in the country is asking the military.

Also during the video address, Volodymyr Zelensky said that in the Mariupol for the decades, probably for the first time since World War II, a child died because of dehydration as a result of a humanitarian catastrophe. Russian occupiers continue blocking the evacuation of civilians.


Russian occupiers shelled Mariupol again and do not allow residents to evacuate.

“Specifically for the purpose of evacuation of Mariupol residents by a single route, the defenders of the city took a number of measures: cleared the road of mines, removed engineering barriers and more.  Just now, without letting civilians out of the city, the enemy launched an attack on Mariupol in direction of this route, ”the Ukrainian Azov Regiment said.


The invaders seized the Azov Wave radio station in Berdyansk, Zaporizhia.  With it, they will be able to spread their propaganda and anti-Ukrainian narratives.

 “We warn all citizens that the occupiers may disseminate anti-Ukrainian propaganda.  Keep in mind that this it will be misinformation nd manipulation, ”stated  Zaporizhia Regional Military Administration representative.


The first successful attempt of evacuation from Sumy took place.  Although the enemy had previously agreed to create “green”, or humanitarian corridor, it did not abide by the agreements and continued shelling.  Only under the protection of the Red Cross civilians were finally able to get away from occupiers. The first column left city at 9:00 on March 8, 2022.  The corridor was promised to not be shelled from 9 to 21 o’clock.


Mariupol City Council shared details about the child who died of dehydration.  6-year-old Tanya was saved from under the rubble of the destroyed house.  It is unknown how long the girl fought for her life. During the last minutes, she was alone  Her mother died in shelling.

 Mayor Vadym Boychenko commented on the tragedy:

 “We can’t imagine how much suffering an innocent child had to endure.  This is just one of the many stories of Mariupol, which has been surviving the blockade for eight days.

 While in [Western countries] children go to school, in our city they are deprived of such an opportunity. They are deprived of peaceful childhood.  But we can still save their peaceful future <…..> There is an urgent need to open a humanitarian corridor and save half a million Mariupol residents.  <…..>.

 We also shout that there are forces for the world community to decide to close the sky over Ukraine.  It will not bring back our dear Tanya, but it will be able to protect lives of thousands of children in Ukraine».

 Shelled residential buildings


Six civilians died in Chernihiv region as a result of explosions of anti-personnel mines laid by Russia s, the ombudswoman Lyudmila Denisova reported.

 “The use of such weapons on civilians is a crime against humanity and a violation of the four Geneva Conventions of 1949. I appeal to international partners ! The terrorist state must be stopped by all available and possible ways! » Denisova said.


The Russian military shot teachers of an orphanage in the Nikolaev area who were going into work and take shift after their colleagues, the chairman of the Nikolaev regional council, Anna Zamazeeva told.

 According to advance information, three teachers were killed and two others were injured in the shelling.  According to Zamazeeva, the occupiers weren’t stopped by the symbols of the Red Cross on the car.

 “They’re the fascists of the 21st century!  I hate them ! After the shelling, the minibus, which was marked with Red Cross signs, caught fire!”


Russian military shot dead two people who came to feed animals in the Kharkov ecopark, according to the owner of ecopark Oleksandr Feldman.


Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Kyrylo Tymoshenko said that the first evacuation convoy of 22 buses from Sumy has already arrived in Poltava.

1,100 foreign students will be evacuated further by train to Lviv.  Now everyone is safe and has received food, Tymoshenko says.
