TDC Co-hosts Ukraine War Anniversary Event at the US Congress

Washington DC: On February 27, the Transatlantic Dialogue Center, in collaboration with the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC) and Atlantic Council Eurasia Center, hosted a special event at the Congress to commemorate the anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The “Ukraine War Anniversary Event” sought to express gratitude to the US for its unwavering support of Ukraine throughout the war.

Rep. Marcy Kaptur, Mike Quigley, Brian Fitzpatrick, and Victoria Spartz delivered remarks and expressed their dedication to continuing to support the Ukrainian nation, followed by brief remarks from Amb. John Herbs and Kurt Volker.

An exhibition of war trophies, including helmets, uniforms, vests, maps, personal items, and documents, was part of the event. Attendees were given the opportunity to take home items from the exhibition. Approximately 90% of the exhibition items were taken home, demonstrating overwhelming interest and support.

In addition, during the event, several video appeals from Ukrainian military personnel on the front lines were shown. These appeals emphasized the critical need for increased military assistance from the United States, including the immediate delivery of Abrams tanks, ATACMS, and longer-range artillery.

The Transatlantic Dialogue Center used the occasion to introduce its handbook on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, as well as a policy paper with recommendations on Ukraine’s reconstruction and recovery for CSOs, governments, the private sector, and donors.
