Stepan Rusyn, Coordinator of the German-Ukrainian Partnership Program at the Transatlantic Dialogue Center, joined TVP World (Poland’s English-language 24/7 news channel) to discuss Ukraine’s continued deep strikes on Russian territory and their growing impact on Russia’s military logistics.
In the interview, Rusyn addressed how Ukraine’s long-range drone campaign has become an increasingly important element of its broader strategy of attrition. By targeting infrastructure that supports Russia’s war effort, Ukraine seeks to impose material costs on Moscow, also to complicate the movement, supply and coordination of Russian forces.
He emphasised that these strikes should be understood within the broader context of Ukraine’s asymmetric response to Russia’s full-scale invasion. As Moscow continues to rely on mass, scale and sustained pressure along the front line. Ukraine is increasingly using precision, innovation and domestic technological capacity to undermine Russia’s ability to sustain its war machine.
Rusyn noted that Ukraine’s deep-strike capabilities carry a wider strategic message: Russia’s rear areas are no longer fully protected from the consequences of its aggression. This creates additional pressure on Russian military planning and highlights the importance of continued Western support for Ukraine’s defence and technological resilience.
