TDC Expert Discusses Ukraine’s Stance on Peace Talks and Russia’s Continued Hostility

On March 15, 2025, Oleksandr Slyvchuk, Coordinator of the Spain and Latin America Cooperation Program, appeared on Todo Noticias, an Argentine news channel, to share key insights regarding Ukraine’s ongoing struggle against Russian aggression and the broader international context.

Slyvchuk highlighted Ukraine’s willingness to negotiate a ceasefire, but emphasized that Russia has yet to respond with any meaningful peace proposals. He noted that Russia’s actions suggest it is more focused on prolonging the war rather than seeking a genuine resolution. Slyvchuk warned that a ceasefire, even if achieved, would not remove the threat posed by Russia under President Putin. He stressed that Russia’s hostile policies are unlikely to change, and the war may only pause temporarily, with the risk of renewed aggression.

The expert concluded by underlining the growing frustration among Ukrainians, who feel unsupported by the international community and fear that peace proposals may be unjust or temporary. Slyvchuk called for continued and strengthened international support to ensure Ukraine’s security and counter Russia’s expansionist ambitions.
