The Transatlantic Dialogue Center (TDC) hosted an online event on February 23 to commemorate the second anniversary of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine and to discuss ongoing and future support from the United States.
President of the Transatlantic Dialogue Center, Maksym Skrypchenko, provided insights from our latest handbook, ‘Why Support Of Ukraine Is Vital For The US’.
During the online event, President Maksym Skrypchenko engaged in discussions with members of think tanks and political experts from the US and Ukraine.
Esteemed speakers included Dina Smeltz, Senior Fellow, Public Opinion and Foreign Policy, The Chicago Council on Global Affairs; Michael Kimmage, Professor of History at the Catholic University of America, fellow at the German Marshall Fund; Tymofii Brik, President of the Kyiv School of Economics; Oleksandr Merezhko, Head of the Committee on Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation.
A highlight of the event was the 1,5 hour-long interactive Q&A session moderated by the Director of Eurasian Programs at the Foreign Policy Research Institute, Bob Hamilton, where all the participants had the opportunity to engage directly with our panelists. Their participation and input are invaluable as we navigate these challenging times and seek to understand and support the ongoing struggle for freedom and democracy in Ukraine.
Participants stressed the pivotal role of U.S. assistance for Ukraine in the face of Russia’s ongoing aggression. Through military aid, economic support, and diplomatic solidarity, the United States has played a crucial role in bolstering Ukraine’s defenses and resilience. This assistance underscores a steadfast commitment to Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, sending a clear message of solidarity to the Ukrainian people. As Ukraine confronts the challenges posed by Russian aggression, the enduring partnership between the United States and Ukraine stands as a cornerstone of stability and security in the region.
