Transatlantic Dialogue Center President Maksym Skrypchenko took part in a policy expert panel during Russia’s War on Syria and Ukraine event organized by Citizens for a Secure and Safe America to unravel some of the key similarities Ukraine and Syria are facing.
Maksym expressed gratitude to the people of Syria who support Ukraine these days:
I sincerely applaud Citizens for a Secure and Safe America for hosting a one day event in the U.S. Congress on July 28 to unravel some of the key similarities Ukraine and Syria are facing. Since Russia launched it’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Syrian people witnessed the playbook, applied once in Syria, unfolding in front of their eyes.
It was my pleasure to participate in the policy experts panel together with Ambassador Fred Hof, Ambassador John E. Herbst, Ariel David Adesnik (FDD), Natasha Hall (CSIS) and to welcome Bakr Ghbeis, Dr Riyad Hijab, Dr Hosam Hafez, Ethan A. Goldrich, Congressman Frank Mrvan, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi, Congressman Michael McCaul Senator Bob Menendez, Senator Jim Risch and Ukrainian MP Maria Mezentseva as distinguished speakers. So sad to leave the panel due to the security issues.
I would like to express my gratitude to the people of Syria who support Ukraine these days.
You can find a footage from several interviews of Syrians in Northwest Idlib region supporting people in Ukraine that has been demonstated during the conference.
