Between midnight and four in the morning, Russia shelled Sumy region. An agricultural enterprise in Putyvl district was destroyed. Russian forces also fired mortars at the Znob-Novhorodske community; about 6 impacts were recorded.

About 30 impacts were recorded in the Esman territorial community near the village of Bachivsk. Fortunately, there were no casualties.

The Russian Federation announced that it was opening pseudo-humanitarian routes in the Black Sea for civilian shipping. The Ukrainian Navy noted that Russia has repeatedly violated international maritime law and therefore cannot guarantee security. Only routes agreed under international treaties and guaranteed by civilised countries can be truly safe.

Russian forces have killed 242 children in Ukraine and injured more than 440, according to the Office of the Prosecutor General. Children in Donetsk, Kyiv and Kharkiv regions were the most affected.

For a full day, more people have been returning to Ukraine than leaving. Over the past day, 37,000 people left Ukraine and almost 42,000 arrived. The Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service processed more than 170 trucks carrying humanitarian aid from partner countries.

Russian occupying forces have fired rockets at Merefa in Kharkiv region for two consecutive days. An electrical substation was destroyed in the shelling.

Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian police recorded and documented 37 enemy attacks in Luhansk region. Sievierodonetsk is under constant enemy fire, and civilians have been injured. During the day, 14 apartment buildings in different parts of the city were damaged.

The shelling also caused significant damage in Lysychansk, Hirske and other settlements in the community. In Vrubivka, 12 houses were damaged.

The enemy is shelling the Lysychansk–Bakhmut road, which the Ukrainian side uses to evacuate civilians.

Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, 367 cases of damage to cultural heritage sites by Russian occupying forces have been recorded. Nine sites have been completely destroyed. The condition of 23 sites remains unknown because they are in temporarily occupied territories.

Russian forces have again shelled residential buildings in Mykolaiv. There are reports of civilian casualties.

One person was killed and six were wounded in a Russian attack on Chornobaivka in Kherson region. The extent of the destruction of civilian infrastructure is being assessed, the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office said.

Ukrainian service members reported that, while in captivity, Russian forces injected them with unknown drugs labelled “M”, after which they lost consciousness and memory, Ombudsperson Liudmyla Denisova said. The occupying forces also made the Ukrainian soldiers learn the poem “Forgive us, native Russians”, the anthem of the Russian Federation, and the history of its coat of arms and flag, or face torture.

Russian occupying forces continue to shell the border areas of Sumy region from Russian territory, Operational Command North reported. On the morning of 28 May, 10 explosions were recorded in the direction of Boiaro-Lezhachi. There were no losses among personnel or equipment.

One person was killed and six were wounded when occupying forces shelled Chornobaivka in Kherson region. Prosecutors opened criminal proceedings and are conducting a pre-trial investigation, the Office of the Prosecutor General reported.

On 27 May, Russian forces fired rockets at the Chornobaivka Village Council. A man was killed under the rubble.

Russian forces shelled Mykolaiv, killing one person and wounding six, the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration said.

At least two shells exploded in the courtyards of apartment buildings. Several residential buildings were damaged in the shelling,” the regional state administration added.

A Russian aircraft fired 6 missiles at Sumy region and its border areas, the State Border Guard Service said.

The missiles landed outside populated areas, so no people or buildings were harmed.

A Russian aircraft shelled a church and a kindergarten in Sumy region, the State Border Guard Service reported.

Three rockets fired by the occupying forces at around 18:00 hit populated areas and wounded a woman.

Occupying forces launched missile strikes on Kryvyi Rih, the head of the military administration, Oleksandr Vilkul, said.
