Strengthening Partnership: Argentine Parliamentarians Meet with First Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine

On October 18, the First Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Oleksandr Korniyenko, met with Deputy Lilia Lemoine from the Chamber of Deputies of the National Congress of the Republic of Argentina and Argentine representative Ivan Dubois from the Parliament of the Southern Common Market (PARLASUR).

During the meeting, they discussed strengthening interparliamentary cooperation. Oleksandr Korniyenko also emphasized to the Argentine delegation that the Russian aggressor, through its unprovoked actions, has caused the food crisis. “One of the points of Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s Peace Formula focuses on food security, a key aspect of ensuring a just, inclusive, and lasting peace,” he stated.

In this context, the parties agreed on the importance of their common task in the fight against Russian propaganda, which the aggressor seeks to spread worldwide.

During the meeting, the First Deputy Speaker also informed his counterparts about Ukraine’s European integration process, the achievements made in this area, and the next steps the Ukrainian Parliament is working on.

In closing, Oleksandr Korniyenko thanked Argentina for its support of Ukraine and the adoption of resolutions in the Argentine Parliament in favor of Ukraine’s interests.

The visit was organized by the Transatlantic Dialogue Center and Resilient Ukraine.
