On October 17, the delegation from the Argentine Parliament: Deputy Lilia Lemoine from the Chamber of Deputies of the National Congress of Argentina, and Argentine parliamentarian Ivan Dubois from the Parliament of the Southern Common Market (PARLASUR), met with the Ukrainian Ombudsman, Dmytro Lubinets.
The visit was organized by the Transatlantic Dialogue Center and Resilient Ukraine.
During the meeting, they discussed possible areas of cooperation that would help improve mechanisms for protecting the rights of children affected by the war and facilitate a more efficient process for their return.
The Ombudsman expressed gratitude to the government of Argentina for its continued support of Ukraine during this difficult time. He especially thanked Argentina for the comprehensive assistance it has provided to Ukraine since the early days of Russia’s large-scale invasion.
“I am convinced that, thanks to Argentina’s prestige, other countries will join our cause, which will represent a significant contribution to restoring the rights and returning the children who were affected by deportation during the war,” the Ombudsman stated.
