On April 7, 2025, representatives of the Transatlantic Dialogue Center (TDC), Oleksandr Slyvchuk, Coordinator of the Spain and Latin America Cooperation Program, and Alina Rohach, Project manager of the same Program, visited Austral University in Buenos Aires for a discussion hosted by the University’s International Relations department.

The speakers explored Ukraine’s journey from the onset of Russia’s full-scale invasion to its pursuit of a just and lasting peace in a presentation titled “Ukraine’s Path from the Russian Invasion to a Just Peace”. Combining personal reflections with analytical insights, they offered a powerful perspective on the challenges Ukraine has faced — highlighting broken promises, continued aggression, and the country’s determination to defend its sovereignty and uphold justice.
During the exchange, the TDC representatives discussed the ongoing war against Ukraine, the current military and humanitarian situation on the ground, and the broader geopolitical implications of the war. They emphasized the importance of viewing peace not as a mere cessation of hostilities, but as a comprehensive process rooted in justice, accountability, and the restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
The dialogue at Austral University served as a valuable platform to engage with students and faculty, share the perspectives of Ukrainian civil society, and build mutual understanding between Ukraine and Latin America at a critical moment in global affairs.
