On October 18, Argentine parliamentarians, Lilia Lemoine (the Chamber of Deputies of the National Congress of Argentina,La Libertad Avanza party) and Ivan Dubois (Parliament of the Southern Common Market- PARLASUR), met with the Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Ihor Zhovkva.
During this significant meeting, the Argentine representatives expressed their interest in deepening dialogue with Ukraine and emphasized the importance of strong international partnerships, especially in challenging times. Ihor Zhovkva, in turn, expressed gratitude for Argentina’s leadership among Latin American countries in supporting Ukraine, underscoring the value of international solidarity. He specifically acknowledged President Javier Milei’s active participation in the inaugural Peace Summit held in Bürgenstock as a testament to Argentina’s commitment to fostering global peace and security.
The discussion also covered the broader implications of Russian aggression against Ukraine on neighboring regions and how it reverberates across societies. They highlighted the need for a united front to counter misinformation and propaganda efforts from the aggressor, which threaten to undermine public perception and understanding of the conflict.
