On October 17, Deputy Lilia Lemoine from the Chamber of Deputies of the National Congress of Argentina and Argentine representative Ivan Dubois from the Parliament of the Southern Common Market (PARLASUR) visited the Okhmatdyt Hospital (short for “Protection of Motherhood and Childhood”), a multidisciplinary medical center for diagnosis and treatment in Kyiv that provides specialized and high-quality medical care to children in Ukraine. It is the largest children’s hospital in the country.
On July 8, 2024, during a massive missile attack amid the Russian-Ukrainian war, the hospital sustained severe damage from the impact of a Russian cruise missile. As a result of the attack, several hospital buildings were damaged, some facilities were destroyed, and windows and glass were shattered, leaving people injured and deceased.
The Argentine parliamentarians emphasized that these attacks aim to destroy the moral spirit of the people, stressing that those who commit these crimes must be brought to justice.
The visit was organized by the Transatlantic Dialogue Center and Resilient Ukraine.
