During TDC advocacy visit to key EU capitals (Berlin, Paris, Brussels) in September, Marianna Fakhurdinova, coordinator of the EU-Ukraine Partnership Program, and Oleksandr Slyvchuk, coordinator of the Cooperation Program with Spain and Latin America, visited Madrid.
In Spain, they had the chance to hold bilateral meetings with Spanish government officials and non-governmental organizations on Ukraine’s EU integration and outline the main challenges that the country is effectively addressing on this path. In addition, the issues of Spain’s continued support for Ukraine as a member of the “Coalition of the Willing”, as well as further military support through the SAFE instrument were raised.
During the one-day visit, the TDC team met with representatives of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, members of parliament, including representatives of the left-wing SUMAR party and Spain’s main right-wing opposition party, the People’s Party (Partido Popular), analysts from CIDOB, and others.
