After completing its advocacy visit to Europe, the Transatlantic Dialogue Center team organised a roundtable discussion with Ukrainian experts at the International Renaissance Foundation office. During the event on October 7, Marianna Fakhurdinova, EU-Ukraine Partnership Program Coordinator presented the key results of the TDC analysts’ September tour.

Ukrainian professionals from think tanks, non-profit organisations, foundations, and government agencies were the first to hear the main observations, conclusions, and insights gained by the team during their busy trip.

For the experts of the Transatlantic Dialogue Center – Marianna Fakhurdinova, Stepan Rusyn and Oleksandr Slyvchuk – the days in Berlin, Paris, Madrid, and Brussels were marked by a series of substantive discussions with representatives of government and expert circles on the pressing challenges facing the EU and Ukraine.

In particular, the analysts found out the positions of their European colleagues on:

  • European mechanisms for financing military aid to Ukraine (Ukraine’s potential participation in the SAFE initiative).
  • Coalition of the Willing (the feasibility and viability of the format).
  • European integration of Ukraine (the potential to open the first negotiation chapter; the situation regarding NABU and SAP).

Thus, the roundtable provided a platform for experts to discuss the results of the European advocacy trip of the Transatlantic Dialogue Center.

TDC team sincerely appreciates all the present specialists for the fruitful dialogue and engagement. The contribution of Ukrainian experts to the discussion was undeniably valuable for the team, and their opinions will be taken into account in planning future events.
