At the end of November 2025, Stockholm hosted the Total Defence Forum. Marianna Fakhurdinova, Coordinator of the EU–Ukraine Partnership Programme at the TDC, joined the Ukrainian delegation of experts and government officials.

The discussions highlighted that Northern European countries are strengthening their security in close cooperation with Ukraine, recognising that Ukraine’s unique wartime experience is a vital contribution to Europe’s collective resilience.

During her visit to Sweden, the Coordinator of the EU–Ukraine Partnership Programme also held a series of bilateral meetings with colleagues from think-tanks FOI, SITE, SCEEUS, UI, and FIIA.

Over two days of productive discussions, the Swedish and Ukrainian sides addressed the following issues:

  • strengthening defence cooperation;
  • national resilience models;
  • technological development — from drones to AI;
  • future scenarios of the Russian threat to Europe.

The visit was organised by Sahaidachnyi Security Center and the Ukrainian Institute with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation, in partnership with the Stockholm Centre for Eastern European Studies, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, and the Folke Bernadotte Academy.

Ukraine’s frontline knowledge is not theoretical — it saves lives and shapes modern defence thinking.
