Embassy of Ukraine in Chile Hosts Meeting with TDC and ZMINA Experts to Strengthen Cooperation on Regional Outreach

On April 11, 2025, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Chile Yurii Diudin welcomed representatives of the Transatlantic Dialogue Center (TDC) and the Human Rights Center ZMINA to the Embassy of Ukraine in Santiago. The meeting was part of a broader Latin America outreach mission aimed at raising awareness about Ukraine’s current struggle and fostering cooperation with key stakeholders across the region.

During the meeting, Oleksandr Slyvchuk, Coordinator of the Spain and Latin America Cooperation Program at the Transatlantic Dialogue Center, outlined the objectives of the delegation’s visit to Latin America, which also encompassed working visits to Uruguay and Argentina. He provided an overview of the meetings held in Chile with officials, academic institutions, and civil society organizations. These interactions were part of a strategic effort to promote mutual understanding and inform the Chilean public about the consequences of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The discussion also addressed Chile’s internal political context and explored ways to enhance cooperation between the Embassy and civil society organizations like TDC and ZMINA. Ambassador Diudin underlined the importance of combining diplomatic and non-governmental efforts to amplify Ukraine’s voice in Latin America.

The meeting marked another step in reinforcing Ukraine’s presence and engagement in Latin America and confirmed the shared commitment to deepening ties with Chilean society through dialogue, advocacy, and cooperation.
