On April 9, 2025, representatives of the Transatlantic Dialogue Center and the Human Rights Center ZMINA held a meeting in Santiago with the Chilean think tank AthenaLab. The discussion served as an opportunity to share insights on the current situation in Ukraine, as well as to learn more about Chile’s domestic and foreign policy dynamics.

During the exchange, our delegation provided an overview of the ongoing war in Ukraine, the humanitarian and security situation on the ground, and Ukraine’s current diplomatic priorities. We also highlighted the role of civil society in defending human rights and ensuring resilience in times of crisis.
AthenaLab experts, in turn, offered a thoughtful analysis of the political landscape in Chile, recent foreign policy developments, and the country’s approach to global security challenges. The conversation emphasized Chile’s support for Ukraine, while also addressing the broader obstacles our country continues to face in rallying international attention and sustaining long-term assistance.
The meeting was part of a broader effort to build partnerships with Latin American policy communities and to foster mutual understanding in a time of global uncertainty. We are grateful to AthenaLab for the constructive dialogue and look forward to continued collaboration.
