Meeting with Ambassador of Ukraine Yurii Klymenko in Buenos Aires

On April 3, 2025, representatives of the Transatlantic Dialogue Center and the Human Rights Center ZMINA held a meeting at the Embassy of Ukraine in Buenos Aires with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to the Argentine Republic, Yurii Klymenko.

The discussion focused on the delegation’s ongoing visit to Argentina, Uruguay, and Chile, including the key messages delivered during meetings with parliamentarians, think tanks, and academic institutions. Particular attention was paid to the communication of Ukraine’s position on Russia’s full-scale war, the current security situation, and the parameters of a just and sustainable peace.

Participants also exchanged views on the evolving international discourse surrounding the war and the importance of countering disinformation narratives in Latin America. The delegation emphasized that Ukraine remains open to diplomatic solutions but stressed that any peace process must be based on respect for Ukraine’s sovereignty, accountability for war crimes, and adherence to international law.
The meeting served as a useful coordination point between Ukrainian diplomatic efforts and civil society outreach in the region, reinforcing shared priorities in promoting Ukraine’s cause abroad.
