In May 2026, the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (IIR)<\/strong> has launched the IIR Policy Lab <\/em><\/strong>together with the Foreign Policy Council “Ukrainian Prism”<\/strong>, Economic Security Council of Ukraine (ESCU)<\/strong>\u0430 \u0442\u0430\u043a\u043e\u0436 \u0432 Transatlantic Dialogue Center (TDC)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The IIR Policy Lab<\/strong> \u2014 a three-week analytical intensive<\/em> that brings together selected, highly motivated IIR students to work in teams on real-world assignments<\/em> provided by partner organizations. Throughout the program, participants develop structured policy documents and present their findings during a final defense before practitioners. Designed to mirror professional think-tank workflows<\/em>, Policy Lab <\/strong>guides students through the full cycle of applied analytical work\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>\u2013\u00a0from research design and evidence collection to drafting policy outputs and delivering clear, practice-oriented conclusions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In June 2026, the student teams finalized their topics <\/em>and presented them, marking a key milestone in the program\u2019s progression from research design to applied analytical work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of TDC\u2019s practical assignment, students were developing a case study focused on turning research into actionable policy outputs and strategic communications related to the U.S.\u2013Ukraine “Drone Deal” initiative<\/strong>. The case study guided participants through problem framing, stakeholder mapping, structured data collection, and the drafting of concise, evidence-based recommendations\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013\u00a0allowing the team to test TDC\u2019s methodology while producing a tangible, policy-relevant deliverable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
