<strong>Call for Research Proposals <\/strong>on \u201c<strong><em>Ukraine\u2019s European Integration through the Lens of Spain: challenges, expectations, and opportunities for cooperation<\/em><\/strong>\u201d. We invite early-career researchers and advanced students in international relations, regional studies, political science, and related fields to submit an original proposal outlining their problem definition, data strategy, sources, and expected contribution, and to develop it into a full analytical paper with mentorship and a fixed research grant upon successful completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Applications should be sent to<\/strong> <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">applications@tdcenter.org<\/span><\/strong> in English, Ukrainian, or Spanish. Please use the following format for your email subject line: S-LATAM Call for Research_[Surname of the Applicant]. All submitted proposals and resulting papers must be <strong>original<\/strong> (no plagiarism) and include proper <strong>source attribution<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-project-description\"><strong>Project description<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Call for Research Proposals<\/strong> is a competitive programme that supports selected research proposals through structured mentorship and a microgrant, awarded upon successful completion of the research. The initiative aims to identify high-quality analytical work on pre-defined, Ukraine-related topics tailored to specific geographic and language contexts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Selected authors will be invited to develop a full analytical paper over a <strong>two-month<\/strong> period under the guidance and mentorship of the designated coordinator for the relevant geographic programme. Upon meeting all editorial and methodological requirements, the author will receive a <strong>fixed research grant<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-application-package-eligibility-and-requirements\"><strong>Application package: eligibility and requirements<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Applicants should meet the following criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Hold at least a <strong>\u0441\u0442\u0443\u043f\u0456\u043d\u044c \u0431\u0430\u043a\u0430\u043b\u0430\u0432\u0440\u0430<\/strong> in international relations, regional studies, political science, or a related field.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demonstrate language proficiency sufficient to work with materials from the <strong>target context<\/strong>, with <strong>English or Spanish at B2 level or higher<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Submit a complete application package consisting of:\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Application form<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>CV<\/strong> (documented engagement with the topic through publications, research experience, internships, or projects is an asset)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Motivation letter<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be willing to work within the programme\u2019s <strong>methodological and editorial standards<\/strong> and engage with feedback throughout the writing process.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be available to stay in contact with the programme coordinator and participate in scheduled consultations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-use-of-ai-tools\"><strong>Use of AI tools<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The ethical use of AI tools is permitted <strong>only as a support function<\/strong>, for example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>organising and systematising materials,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>an initial language and consistency check,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>limited assistance with source work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>AI tools <strong>must not replace<\/strong> the author\u2019s own analysis or argumentation. Applicants are required to <strong>disclose any use of AI tools<\/strong>, clearly stating how they were used and what role they played in preparing the research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-research-delivery-and-mentorship\"><strong>Research delivery and mentorship<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The author selected through the competitive process will have the opportunity to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>complete a full analytical research paper within <strong>two months<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>work under the <strong>guidance and mentorship of the coordinator<\/strong> of the relevant geographic programme;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>depending on the topic, meet with invited experts for in-depth consultations and discussion;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>attend selected events in the capacity of a <strong>TDC analyst-intern<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>receive ongoing comments, edits, and recommendations throughout the drafting process.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-funding-and-remuneration\"><strong>Funding and remuneration<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the author has:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>met all content and formatting requirements,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>incorporated revisions in line with editorial feedback, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>submitted a final, fully edited version of the paper,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>they will receive a <strong>research grant of approximately UAH 20,000 (approx. EUR 400)<\/strong>. The grant will be paid in two instalments: <strong>UAH 5,000 (approx. EUR 100) <\/strong>upon selection, and <strong>UAH 15,000<\/strong> <strong>(approx. EUR 300) <\/strong>after successful completion and submission of the final paper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-evaluation-criteria\"><strong>Evaluation criteria<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications will be assessed on a <strong>100-point scale<\/strong>, based on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Contextual Expertise (20 pts):<\/strong> Depth of understanding of Spain\u2019s political, economic, and social landscape, and its implications for Ukraine\u2019s EU integration.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Analytical Logic &amp; Structure (25 pts):<\/strong> Clarity of the research hypothesis and the logical structure of the proposed <strong>Annotated Outline<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Data Strategy (30 pts):<\/strong> Identification of credible primary sources (e.g., <em>CIS, Elcano Royal Institute, Eurobarometer<\/em>) and a well-grounded preliminary analysis.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Practical Impact (15 pts):<\/strong> Ability to translate analysis into <strong>actionable recommendations<\/strong> for Ukrainian stakeholders and Spanish partners.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Qualifications
