On April 10, 2025, the Transatlantic Dialogue Center and the Human Rights Center ZMINA held an engaging discussion with students at the Universidad del Desarrollo in Santiago, Chile. This event was part of a broader effort to deepen international understanding of Ukraine\u2019s current challenges and future prospects, particularly among the next generation of leaders in Latin America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conversation covered a wide range of topics, from the shifting global security landscape to the language we use to describe war and peace. Speakers introduced the concept of the \u201cnew normal\u201d under full-scale war, illustrating how Ukrainian society has had to adapt to daily threats in the face of aggression. Particular attention was paid to the issue of human rights violations in the territories temporarily occupied by Russia. The representatives of ZMINA shared firsthand insights into the repressive practices implemented by Russian authorities in these areas, including enforced disappearances, suppression of Ukrainian identity, and limits on free speech and assembly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
