As part of the Munich Security Conference 2025<\/strong>, Junge Deutsche Atlantische Gesellschaft (JDAG)<\/strong>, in collaboration with the Transatlantic Dialogue Center (TDC)<\/strong>, organized the panel discussion \u201cWhy It Matters \u2014 Tech Tactics: The Role of Autonomous Systems in Defense and Ukrainian Experience\u201d<\/em> on February 14, 2025. The discussion focused on the role of autonomous and semi-autonomous weapon systems in modern conflicts. Over 100 participants<\/strong>, including security experts and emerging leaders, discussed the strategic impacts and practical applications of these technologies in military operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Dmitri Alperovitch<\/strong>, Co-Founder and Chairman of Silverado Policy Accelerator<\/strong> and member of the Security Innovation Board<\/strong> of the Munich Security Conference<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Dr. Lydia Kostopoulos<\/strong>, Founder of Abundance Studio<\/strong> and advisor to governments and industry on Emerging Technologies<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Brig. Gen. Oleksandr Potii<\/strong>, Head of the\u00a0Ukrainian State Service for Special Communication and Information Protection (SSSCIP)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    \u0421\u0442\u0435\u043f\u0430\u043d \u0420\u0443\u0441\u0438\u043d<\/strong>, Coordinator of the German-Ukrainian Partnership Program (TDC<\/strong>) moderated the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The discussion focused not only on the strategic advantages of autonomous systems but also on the challenges posed by technological warfare<\/strong>, cybersecurity risks<\/strong>, and the integration of such systems into existing armed forces. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The takeaways from the Russian-Ukrainian war<\/strong> were particularly highlighted, along with what can be learned from these experiences for future military operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
