Maksym Skrypchenko, President of the Transatlantic Dialogue Center, provided the commentary to the Hill, emphasizing that Ukrainian oil refinery strikes are \u201cextremely effective\u201d and are expected to decrease Russian oil production in April.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added the attacks are \u201cjust the beginning\u201d and expects them to increase. \u201cIt\u2019s not just like a fly in the room that\u2019s disturbing you,\u201d he said. \u201cWe are seeing the increase of prices in Russia.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Skrypchenko also said Ukraine is exhausting Russian air defenses and hitting hard-to-repair sections of the oil refineries that will get harder and harder to fix. \u201cIf we continue doing this \u2026 at a specific point of time they run out of spare parts,\u201d he said. \u201dIn the end it will lead to Russia trying to get some spare parts from abroad [and] it will take months for that to repair. It\u2019s a viable strategy that works.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
