Tuttavia, Kyiv non \u00e8 caduta nelle mani degli occupanti, n\u00e9 lo hanno fatto la maggior parte delle altre grandi citt\u00e0 ucraine. Come il popolo ucraino, le potenze occidentali si sono unite di fronte a una minaccia che molti non avrebbero potuto immaginare nel 21<sup>\u00ba<\/sup> secolo. Il mondo civilizzato deve comprendere che conseguire la pace quanto prima \u00e8 di fondamentale importanza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Pi\u00f9 a lungo dura la guerra, pi\u00f9 persone ne cadranno vittime.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All'inizio di questa settimana, dopo il ritiro dell'esercito russo dai territori attorno a Kyiv, il mondo intero \u00e8 rimasto inorridito dalle immagini delle atrocit\u00e0 commesse dai soldati russi nella citt\u00e0 di Bucha. Se la guerra continuer\u00e0, \u00e8 probabile che questi terribili episodi si verifichino anche in altre regioni ucraine.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Una soluzione pi\u00f9 rapida implicherebbe meno distruzione.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le infrastrutture ucraine sono state gravemente danneggiate durante la guerra e alcune citt\u00e0 sono state completamente devastate da missili, bombe e artiglieria a razzi russi. Le spese necessarie per la ricostruzione dopo tutte queste distruzioni aumentano ogni giorno con il protrarsi delle ostilit\u00e0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Protrarre la guerra comporta un aumento della spesa militare.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le Forze armate ucraine hanno dimostrato di saper impiegare efficacemente le armi e le attrezzature fornite dagli Stati occidentali contro le pi\u00f9 numerose forze russe. Quanto meglio \u00e8 equipaggiato l'esercito ucraino, tanto pi\u00f9 l'Ucraina si avvicina alla fine della guerra. Diluire nel tempo gli approvvigionamenti non consente di accumularne una quantit\u00e0 sufficiente e ne ostacola l'efficacia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>I russi hanno la possibilit\u00e0 di abituarsi a vivere sotto le sanzioni.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le potenze occidentali hanno quasi esaurito l'insieme delle misure che potevano adottare senza effetti rilevanti sul proprio benessere. Tuttavia, pi\u00f9 a lungo dura la guerra, pi\u00f9 tempo ha la Russia per adattarsi alle nuove condizioni in cui vive e minore sar\u00e0 l'effetto di tali misure, aumentando cos\u00ec il costo per l'Occidente. Per incidere realmente, le sanzioni devono essere abbastanza incisive da produrre conseguenze immediate sia per la societ\u00e0 russa sia per l'establishment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>L'opinione pubblica si sta stancando del tema ucraino.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Il sostegno agli ucraini espresso dall'opinione pubblica ha aperto molte possibilit\u00e0 ai governi occidentali, che potrebbero ottenere notevoli vantaggi reputazionali fornendo assistenza all'Ucraina. Lo spostamento dell'attenzione pubblica, inevitabile quando un tema domina lo spazio informativo per cos\u00ec tanto tempo, sullo sfondo di questioni urgenti irrisolte, vanificher\u00e0 tali sforzi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pertanto, l'Occidente deve promuovere una soluzione della guerra quanto pi\u00f9 rapida possibile, rafforzando il proprio sostegno all'Ucraina soprattutto attraverso:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>la fornitura di armi, attrezzature e fondi sufficienti alle Forze armate ucraine;<\/li><li>una maggiore pressione sull'economia russa, cos\u00ec da non limitarsi a contenere la sua macchina militare, ma fermarla;<\/li><li>l'assistenza all'establishment ucraino, sia politica sia finanziaria, nella sua lotta per soddisfare le necessit\u00e0 dello Stato legate alla guerra.<\/li><\/ul>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When Russia invaded Ukraine in late February, the best forecasts of western media and experts alleged that Kyiv would stand until seized by the Russian army for 96 hours.
