Per lui, il Donbas non \u00e8 soltanto un pezzo di terra: \u00e8 il nucleo ideologico, storico e psicologico della sua guerra\u00bb, afferma Chebotarov.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Spiega che, per Putin, il Donbas \u00e8 diventato il simbolo centrale del \u00abMondo russo\u00bb \u2014 il mito secondo cui russi, ucraini e bielorussi formerebbero un'unica nazione storica, ingiustamente divisa dall'Occidente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u00abRitirarsi dal Donbas significherebbe riconoscere che l\u2019Ucraina esiste come nazione sovrana e distinta: una realt\u00e0 che mina la sua intera visione del mondo\u00bb.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chebotarov illustra inoltre la dimensione militare della regione:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u00abDal 2014, Kyiv ha trasformato l'asse occidentale di Donetsk in una cintura difensiva lunga 50 chilometri e articolata su pi\u00f9 livelli, composta da trincee, campi minati e fortificazioni.
