La lezione \u00e8 stata tenuta da Dan Whitman, diplomatico statunitense, professore alla George Washington University e ricercatore associato presso il Foreign Policy Research Institute (FPRI). Durante la lezione, Whitman ha illustrato i fondamenti teorici e le origini storiche della propaganda, proponendo diversi approcci alla sua definizione, al suo significato e alle sue manifestazioni nelle relazioni internazionali. Whitman ha offerto vari esempi dell'uso di slogan propagandistici nella storia degli Stati Uniti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"877\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/tdcenter.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/image-48.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-24173\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tdcenter.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/image-48.png 877w, https:\/\/tdcenter.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/image-48-600x308.png 600w, https:\/\/tdcenter.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/image-48-768x394.png 768w, https:\/\/tdcenter.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/image-48-18x9.png 18w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 877px) 100vw, 877px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Il professore statunitense ha proposto diversi approcci per definire la diplomazia pubblica e ne ha presentato le principali manifestazioni nelle politiche estere degli Stati moderni, sottolineandone l'uso da parte dei Paesi democratici nel mondo odierno, in contrapposizione alla propaganda. Ha inoltre evidenziato l'importanza del pensiero critico e dell'alfabetizzazione mediatica nel contrastare manipolazioni e disinformazione, spesso componenti integranti della propaganda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La lezione ha suscitato vivo interesse tra gli studenti, che hanno avuto l'opportunit\u00e0 di porre domande al professor Whitman e ricevere risposte dettagliate. Ci\u00f2 non solo ha favorito una comprensione pi\u00f9 approfondita dell'argomento, ma ha anche coinvolto attivamente i giovani nella discussione di temi di attualit\u00e0 nelle relazioni internazionali. Eventi di questo tipo consentono agli studenti di ampliare le proprie conoscenze e sviluppare una prospettiva critica sugli eventi mondiali.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Questo formato di lezioni online tenute da esperti di primo piano \u00e8 essenziale per la preparazione dei futuri specialisti delle relazioni internazionali, poich\u00e9 fornisce loro conoscenze e strumenti aggiornati per analizzare complessi processi internazionali.
