{"id":33338,"date":"2025-12-12T16:36:24","date_gmt":"2025-12-12T14:36:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tdcenter.org\/?p=33338"},"modified":"2026-07-04T12:02:02","modified_gmt":"2026-07-04T09:02:02","slug":"a-new-generation-of-regional-voices-latin-american-students-complete-their-internship-at-tdc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tdcenter.org\/fr\/2025\/12\/12\/a-new-generation-of-regional-voices-latin-american-students-complete-their-internship-at-tdc\/","title":{"rendered":"Une nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de voix r\u00e9gionales : des \u00e9tudiants latino-am\u00e9ricains ach\u00e8vent leur stage au TDC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">From August to December 2025, the <strong>Transatlantic Dialogue Center hosted<\/strong> <strong>a remote<\/strong> <strong>internship for eight students from Argentina, Chile, and Peru <\/strong>through the Spain and Latin America Cooperation Program.&nbsp;Participants represented a diverse group of institutions, including <em>Universidad Argentina de la Empresa<\/em>, <em>Universidad Cat\u00f3lica de Santiago del Estero,<\/em> <em>Universidad del CEMA<\/em>, and <em>Universidad del Salvador<\/em> in Argentina; <em>Universidad de Concepci\u00f3n<\/em> and <em>Universidad Diego Portales<\/em> in Chile; and <em>Universidad Nacional Pedro Ruiz Gallo<\/em> in Peru.&nbsp;The program\u2019s goal was to give young researchers practical experience in analytical work, media studies and strategic communication in the field of international affairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/tdcenter.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Untitled-design-1024x576.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-33340\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tdcenter.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Untitled-design-1024x576.png 1024w, https:\/\/tdcenter.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Untitled-design-600x338.png 600w, https:\/\/tdcenter.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Untitled-design-768x432.png 768w, https:\/\/tdcenter.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Untitled-design-1536x864.png 1536w, https:\/\/tdcenter.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Untitled-design-18x10.png 18w, https:\/\/tdcenter.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Untitled-design.png 1920w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">The core project of the internship was a joint study titled <em><strong>\u201cCompeting Narratives: How Ukraine Is Informed and Misinformed About in Latin America\u201d<\/strong><\/em>. The interns carried out several stages of research, beginning with data collection and the monitoring of Russian, Ukrainian, and Latin American media in Spanish. They analysed dominant themes, tone, emotional framing, and narrative patterns. In the next stages, they produced a preliminary assessment and a comparative matrix that examined differences and similarities across sources, including visual presentation, emotional load, and manipulation techniques. The final phase involved surveys and field-level verification to understand how audiences in Argentina, Chile, and Peru perceive and internalise these narratives. They also supported the editing of the Spanish-language versions of two major TDC analytical papers,<em> <\/em><strong><em>\u201cCan SAFE make Ukraine safer? Insights into the new European financial instrument\u201d<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>\u201cRussia\u2019s role in the post-war world order. How will Russia\u2019s position in the Global South and within international institutions evolve?\u201d<\/em><\/strong>. For many, it was their first structured engagement with comparative media analysis and international communication. As <strong>Ana Karla Bogoliuk<\/strong>, student of Government and International Relations at <em>Universidad Argentina de la Empresa<\/em>, noted:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00ab Ce stage nous a tous donn\u00e9 l\u2019occasion d\u2019approfondir notre compr\u00e9hension de la communication internationale au XXIe si\u00e8cle, de la prolif\u00e9ration des fausses nouvelles et de la propagande, de la composition de l\u2019environnement m\u00e9diatique latino-am\u00e9ricain, des habitudes informationnelles et des opinions de la population, de l\u2019identification des r\u00e9cits, ainsi que du cas \u00e9tudi\u00e9 : la guerre entre la Russie et l\u2019Ukraine, son contexte et la bataille qui se d\u00e9roule \u00e9galement dans l\u2019espace informationnel \u00bb.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">Similarly, <strong>Jes\u00fas Gonz\u00e1lez Parada<\/strong>, a graduate in Political and Administrative Sciences from <em>Universidad de Concepci\u00f3n<\/em>, emphasised the personal dimension of the program:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00ab Au-del\u00e0 des r\u00e9sultats acad\u00e9miques, cette exp\u00e9rience a \u00e9t\u00e9 profond\u00e9ment enrichissante sur le plan personnel. Elle m\u2019a permis d\u2019acqu\u00e9rir de nouvelles connaissances, de d\u00e9velopper un regard critique sur la communication internationale, mais surtout de me rapprocher d\u2019une \u00e9quipe qui, dans l\u2019argot chilien, peut \u00eatre qualifi\u00e9e de \u201cbac\u00e1n\u201d, une \u00e9quipe o\u00f9 la distance g\u00e9ographique s\u2019est effac\u00e9e devant la collaboration, laissant place \u00e0 un sentiment de fraternit\u00e9 qui transcende les fronti\u00e8res \u00bb.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le programme a montr\u00e9 comment les perspectives latino-am\u00e9ricaines enrichissent la compr\u00e9hension des dynamiques mondiales de l\u2019information. Les participants ont mobilis\u00e9 leur exp\u00e9rience r\u00e9gionale de la fragmentation m\u00e9diatique, des r\u00e9cits de transition et de la r\u00e9silience civique pour interpr\u00e9ter la mani\u00e8re dont les messages concurrents sur l\u2019Ukraine sont construits et contest\u00e9s dans le monde hispanophone.
