During the discussion, Rohach and Batsko presented a Ukrainian civil society perspective on the current situation and shared reflections on peace prospects and possible pathways toward ending the war. They noted that expectations for a near-term breakthrough remain limited, as Russia continues to demonstrate a lack of genuine commitment to peace through its actions \u2014 including strikes on critical infrastructure and civilian cities even amid peace-related negotiations and diplomatic signalling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A separate focus of the conversation addressed “the role of women and civil society during wartime” \u2014 including leadership, volunteer initiatives, support to victims, human rights advocacy, and community-level work that sustains resilience under prolonged pressure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
