Sin embargo, Kyiv no cay\u00f3 en manos de los ocupantes, ni tampoco la mayor\u00eda de las dem\u00e1s grandes ciudades ucranianas. Al igual que el pueblo ucraniano, las potencias occidentales se unieron ante una amenaza que muchos no pod\u00edan imaginar que ocurriera en el siglo 21.<sup>\u00ba<\/sup>. El mundo civilizado debe comprender que alcanzar la paz lo antes posible es de suma importancia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Cuanto m\u00e1s se prolongue la guerra, m\u00e1s personas ser\u00e1n sus v\u00edctimas.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A principios de esta semana, despu\u00e9s de que el ej\u00e9rcito ruso se retirara de los territorios cercanos a Kyiv, el mundo entero qued\u00f3 horrorizado por las im\u00e1genes de las atrocidades cometidas por los soldados rusos en la ciudad de Bucha. Si la guerra contin\u00faa, es probable que estos incidentes aterradores tambi\u00e9n ocurran en otras regiones de Ucrania.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Un acuerdo m\u00e1s temprano implicar\u00eda menos destrucci\u00f3n.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La infraestructura ucraniana ha sufrido da\u00f1os enormes durante la guerra, y algunas ciudades han quedado completamente devastadas por los misiles, bombas y artiller\u00eda de cohetes rusos. Los gastos necesarios para la reconstrucci\u00f3n tras toda esta destrucci\u00f3n aumentan cada d\u00eda que contin\u00faan las hostilidades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Prolongar la guerra conlleva un aumento del gasto militar.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Las Fuerzas Armadas de Ucrania han demostrado que son capaces de emplear eficazmente las armas y el equipo proporcionados por los Estados occidentales contra las fuerzas rusas, superiores en n\u00famero. Cuanto mejor equipado est\u00e9 el ej\u00e9rcito ucraniano, m\u00e1s cerca estar\u00e1 Ucrania de poner fin a la guerra. Dilatar las adquisiciones no les permite acumular una cantidad suficiente y reduce su eficacia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Los rusos tienen la posibilidad de acostumbrarse a vivir bajo las sanciones.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Las potencias occidentales casi han agotado el conjunto de medidas que pod\u00edan adoptar sin efectos significativos sobre su propio bienestar. Sin embargo, cuanto m\u00e1s dure la guerra, m\u00e1s tiempo tendr\u00e1 Rusia para adaptarse a las nuevas condiciones en las que vive y menos efecto tendr\u00e1n esas medidas, lo que aumentar\u00e1 el coste para Occidente. Para marcar la diferencia, las sanciones deben ser lo bastante sustanciales como para tener consecuencias inmediatas tanto para la sociedad rusa como para el estamento dirigente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>La opini\u00f3n p\u00fablica se est\u00e1 cansando del tema ucraniano.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El apoyo a los ucranianos expresado por la opini\u00f3n p\u00fablica abri\u00f3 muchas oportunidades para los gobiernos occidentales, que pod\u00edan obtener importantes beneficios de reputaci\u00f3n al prestar ayuda a Ucrania. Desviar el foco de la atenci\u00f3n p\u00fablica, algo inevitable cuando un tema domina el espacio informativo durante tanto tiempo, en un contexto de asuntos urgentes sin resolver, frustrar\u00e1 esos esfuerzos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Por tanto, Occidente debe propiciar la pronta resoluci\u00f3n de la guerra reforzando su apoyo a Ucrania principalmente mediante:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Proporcionar armas y equipo suficientes, as\u00ed como fondos, a las Fuerzas Armadas de Ucrania;<\/li><li>Ejercer mayor presi\u00f3n sobre la econom\u00eda rusa y, con ello, no solo disuadir, sino detener su maquinaria militar;<\/li><li>Ayudar al estamento dirigente ucraniano, tanto pol\u00edtica como financieramente, en su lucha por satisfacer las necesidades del Estado relacionadas con la guerra.<\/li><\/ul>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When Russia invaded Ukraine in late February, the best forecasts of western media and experts alleged that Kyiv would stand until seized by the Russian army for 96 hours.
