During Am\u00e9rico Martins\u2019<\/strong> visit to Ukraine, TDC supported a human rights and culture-focused agenda<\/em> in Lviv<\/strong> undKyiv<\/strong>, bringing together voices from civil society, the justice community, and the cultural sector. Am\u00e9rico Martins<\/strong>, Senior International Correspondent and International Affairs Analyst at CNN Brasil<\/em>, continued sharing Ukraine\u2019s realities with Brazilian audiences.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

In Kyiv, TDC met with Cultural Forces<\/strong>, including Kolya Serga<\/strong>, to discuss the role of culture in wartime <\/em>\u2014 both as public service and as a tool for resilience, including the ongoing rethinking of Russian cultural influence. The visit also included the Khanenko Museum <\/strong>and an interview with artist Hamlet Zinkivskyi<\/strong> at his Project 365 exhibition “Time Is Not Needed”<\/em> (Kyiv, May 17). TDC additionally attended a Boombox concert<\/strong> and interviewed the band\u2019s frontman Andriy Khlyvnyuk<\/strong> \u2014 a theme reflected in CNN Brasil coverage of Ukrainians sustaining cultural life under air raid risks in “Ucranianos resistem a ataques da R\u00fassia e retomam normalidade”<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Kyiv (May 18), Am\u00e9rico met with Kateryna Rashevska <\/strong>(Regional Center for Human Rights)<\/em> to discuss Ukraine\u2019s accountability and justice efforts. The conversation addressed the proposed Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression<\/em>, why formal charge confirmation matters even when top officials cannot be tried immediately, and ICC proceedings related to Ukrainian children, including arrest warrants for unlawful deportation and forcible transfer. The discussion also emphasized systematic documentation, coordinated sanctions against perpetrators, and keeping victims\u2019 rights and civilian protection central in any future peace negotiations.<\/p>\n\n\n

On May 19, the agenda continued with Oleksandra Romantsova<\/strong> (NGO Center for Civil Liberties)<\/em>, focusing on civic self-organization since 1991, the legacy of Euromaidan, and why preserving evidence of abuses under occupation is essential for justice and prevention.<\/p>\n\n\n
