Oleksandr Slyvchuk highlighted that Trump\u2019s two phone calls on the same day\u2014first to Putin, then to Zelenskyy\u2014were aimed at understanding both sides\u2019 positions rather than signaling any policy commitment. He criticized the misconception in Washington that territorial compromises could resolve the conflict, emphasizing that Russia\u2019s goal is not just acquiring land but controlling Ukraine by limiting its sovereignty, military capabilities, and Euro-Atlantic integration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oleksandr Slyvchuk stressed that any negotiation must involve Europe, not just the U.S., Russia, and Ukraine. He supported Spain\u2019s position that the war is a European security issue, requiring EU participation in any future peace talks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
