Mai 2024 fand mit Unterst\u00fctzung des Transatlantic Dialogue Center eine Online-Vorlesung mit dem Titel <strong>\u201ePropaganda und \u00f6ffentliche Diplomatie\u201c<\/strong> f\u00fcr die Studierenden des Bildungs- und Wissenschaftsinstituts f\u00fcr Internationale Beziehungen statt. Die Vorlesung wurde von Dan Whitman gehalten, einem amerikanischen Diplomaten, Professor an der George Washington University und Fellow am Foreign Policy Research Institute (FPRI). W\u00e4hrend der Vorlesung skizzierte Whitman die theoretischen Grundlagen und historischen Urspr\u00fcnge der Propaganda, lieferte verschiedene Ans\u00e4tze zu ihrer Definition, Bedeutung und Erscheinungsformen in den internationalen Beziehungen. Dar\u00fcber hinaus pr\u00e4sentierte er mehrere Beispiele f\u00fcr die Verwendung von Propagandaslogans aus der US-Geschichte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"877\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/tdcenter.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/image-48.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-24173\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tdcenter.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/image-48.png 877w, https:\/\/tdcenter.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/image-48-600x308.png 600w, https:\/\/tdcenter.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/image-48-768x394.png 768w, https:\/\/tdcenter.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/image-48-18x9.png 18w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 877px) 100vw, 877px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Der amerikanische Professor schlug mehrere Ans\u00e4tze zur Definition der \u00f6ffentlichen Diplomatie vor und stellte ihre wichtigsten Erscheinungsformen in der Au\u00dfenpolitik moderner Staaten vor. Dabei betonte er den Einsatz der \u00f6ffentlichen Diplomatie durch demokratische L\u00e4nder in der heutigen Welt im Gegensatz zur Propaganda. Er betonte auch die Bedeutung kritischen Denkens und der Medienkompetenz bei der Bek\u00e4mpfung von Manipulationen und Desinformation, die oft integrale Bestandteile der Propaganda sind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Vorlesung stie\u00df bei den Sch\u00fclern auf reges Interesse. Sie hatten die M\u00f6glichkeit, Professor Whitman Fragen zu stellen und ausf\u00fchrliche Antworten zu erhalten. Dies trug nicht nur zu einem tieferen Verst\u00e4ndnis des Themas bei, sondern beteiligte die Jugendlichen auch aktiv an der Diskussion aktueller Fragen der internationalen Beziehungen. Solche Veranstaltungen erm\u00f6glichen es Sch\u00fclern, ihr Wissen zu erweitern und eine kritische Perspektive auf das Weltgeschehen zu entwickeln.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dieses Format von Online-Vorlesungen f\u00fchrender Experten ist f\u00fcr die Vorbereitung zuk\u00fcnftiger Spezialisten f\u00fcr internationale Beziehungen von entscheidender Bedeutung und vermittelt ihnen die neuesten Kenntnisse und Werkzeuge zur Analyse komplexer internationaler Prozesse.
